Road to Freedom is a guided audio walkthrough at the Vallabhbhai Patel and Vithalbhai Patel Memorial in Karamsad. Visitors move through a sequence of designed spaces that trace Patel’s life alongside India’s struggle for independence and the work of building a united country.
Yes. One ticket includes access to the full Road to Freedom walkthrough for your scheduled slot, along with an audio guide device and headset.
You move with a small group through a series of rooms and installations. The story is carried by audio narration, archival material, film and physical sets. The walkthrough takes about 2.5 hours from start to finish.
The walkthrough itself takes about 2.5 hours. With arrival, check in and the audio guide briefing, you should plan for at least 3 hours at the memorial.

1. What are the days of operation?

The Road to Freedom experience runs from Wednesday to Sunday and is closed on Monday and Tuesday. In some cases, pre-booked groups or institutions may be able to visit on closed days. Please contact the team to discuss possible dates.
Advance booking is strongly recommended because each slot is limited to 15 visitors. Same day tickets may be available if there are open seats, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Yes. Entry is for visitors aged 13 years and above, due to content depth and duration.
Yes. Valid identity proof is required for each visitor at the time of entry.
If your plans change, please contact the team as soon as possible using the phone or WhatsApp number you booked with. They will let you know what changes are possible based on the current policy and slot availability.
If you cannot attend and wish to send someone in your place, please inform the team before your slot so they can advise on name and identity proof requirements.
Refunds and rescheduling when a visitor does not attend depend on the current ticket policy. Please contact the team directly if you need clarification.

1. How early should I arrive before my slot?

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your booked slot so there is enough time for check in, audio guide briefing and settling in.
The walkthrough begins at the scheduled time for the group. If you arrive late, entry will depend on how far the walkthrough has progressed and whether it is possible to join without disturbing others. Arriving early is the safest option.
If you need to step out briefly, please inform a staff member. Re-entry during the same slot may be limited and will depend on the point reached in the walkthrough, both for safety and to avoid disrupting other visitors.
There is some seating available at intervals. If you or someone in your group may need to sit more often, please mention this when booking so the team can guide you on the best way to experience the walkthrough.
Food and drinks are not permitted inside the walkthrough spaces. Drinking water is available within the memorial and you can step out before or after the walkthrough if you need a longer break.
No. Photos and videos are not allowed within the Road to Freedom walkthrough. You are welcome to take images of the memorial building and the gardens.
Yes. The memorial has a small souvenir shop within the grounds where visitors can pick up books, t-shirts and other mementoes related to Sardar Patel and the memorial.
Yes. The memorial is set within landscaped gardens which also houses a dedicated children’s playground and so kids can play and families can spend time in the open before or after the walkthrough.

1. Is the Road to Freedom walkthrough accessible for wheelchair users?

Yes. Wheelchair access is available and staff will assist visitors who need support. There are also benches available for seating throughout the walk. If you have specific mobility or access needs, it is best to mention them at the time of booking so the team can guide you on the best way to experience the walkthrough.
Yes. Parking is available for cars and two wheelers within the memorial premises.
Yes. Toilets and drinking water are available within the memorial.
Yes. Basic first aid support is available and our staff can assist you if you feel unwell during your visit. The memorial is also situated very close to Shree Krishna hospital, in case of any emergencies.
